The process is simple and easily integrated into the guests eating: When guests have finishing their meal they scrape down the leftovers in the vessel standing on the scale. The screen shows the weight in grams what the student has thrown at the same time as the animated figure responds weight. Guests who has a completely empty plate may also participate, pressing a green “zero-key” button on the wall. By making visible the process invites the participation of others while raising awareness of how much food is thrown away, actively educating and motivating people to throw less waste.
All data is saved and is available for reporting and generation of reports. The reports are then the basis of the next step in the improvement work. For example, the reports can create group competitions between different devices on school or within the business.
